COVID-19 Vaccine Info, Questions & Resources

Quick Facts

  • COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective.
  • Free vaccines will be available to everyone who lives in Canada by end of September 2021.
  • Vaccines are products that produce immunity to a specific virus like COVID-19. When you are immune to COVID-19 you may not get infected or if you do become infected, it can help prevent more severe illness, hospitalization and death.

Vaccination is a personal choice.

It’s important to ask questions so you can understand the facts about all vaccines for yourself and make the best decision for you, your family and your community.

Speak to their family doctor or health care provider if you are hesitant or have questions.

Vaccines save lives.

Vaccines protect people who get the vaccine and those around them too.

Vaccines are a critical way to limit the virus’ spread. They are effective and safe for protecting your health, as well as the health of family and community members. The more people in a community who are vaccinated, and therefore protected from COVID-19, the harder it is for COVID-19 to spread.

Vaccines save lives.

Until the majority of people receive the vaccine, public health measures will continue to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and save lives.

All health protocols must continue for now:

  • Stay home if you feel sick
  • Wash or sanitize your hands often
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes
  • Avoid touching your face, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched
  • Practice physical distancing (at least 2m/6ft)
  • Wear a mask or face covering when leaving the house
  • No indoor or outdoor gatherings
